Can I claim my child as a dependent if the father did ?

    Unfortunately, as seen in our TurboTax FAQ Who can claim the tax credit for an eligible dependant? The amount for an eligible dependant can't be split between two parents. Therefore, you cannot claim your child as a dependant if the father has already made the claim.
