Question

Can I file with my spouse even if I didn't last year?

He filed separately last year.  This year Turbo Tax is asking me questions about his income.  Won't they have that if we are filing together?

    Yes, you can file with your spouse even if you completed your returns separately last year.

     

     

    When you start your new return, when it asks "Who are you completing this return for" make sure you put for both myself and my spouse/partner.  If you put "me" then it will ask for your spouse's information including their income. 

     

    TurboTax software for tax year 2023 will be released on December 18th.
