Can we prepare our returns together as we prepared the 2021 tax returns separately, to compare which way to submit as we are common law living?

Yes, you can prepare your returns together. We recommend preparing your returns together, as the software maximizes the benefits for the couple as a whole while still generating two separate returns. To prepare your returns together in TurboTax Online, when you start a new return, if you have information to transfer from last year, you will have the option to only transfer one partner’s information into a return just for that person. Or you can click on “Create A Different Return” to start a new return from scratch, without any information from last year.
