How long does it take for my ammended tax return refund check to be mailed out once completed

    What do you mean by "completed"? It takes the IRS 3 months or more to process an amended return. Once they have finished processing it, it might be a couple of weeks before they actually mail the refund check. With the recent reductions in IRS staffing, things might take a little longer. The best source of information about the status of your amended return is Where’s My Amended Return? on the IRS web site.
