are state tax returns accepted on the weekend?

federal return was accepted on April 17th. My NJ state return remains pending more than 24 hours later today on April 18th. Today April 18th is a NJ state holiday. Are state tax returns accepted on non-business days ?

    New Jersey usually takes two or three days to accept an e-filed tax return, without any holidays. I don't know whether holidays extend the time further. But I certainly would not expect a New Jersey return to be accepted in 24 hours. I'm sure you will eventually hear from the state, but it probably won't be until next week.
