You can prepare the taxes at any time, but if you want to file them at a later date you will have to go back into the account and file them at that time.

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

Instead of transmitting your tax returns now, come back to your tax return on April 13 and transmit them then.
