Question

Can I still file my state taxes (MN) if I haven't received a CRP from my landlord yet?

I rented the entire year in Minnesota, but have not received my 2024 CRP from my landlord yet - can I file my general state taxes now and come back later to file the CRP?

Yes, if you want to file your return now, but did not get your CRP, you can later amend to claim the Renter's Credit.

If your property owner or managing agent does not correct or provide it by February 1, you may request a Rent Paid Affidavit (RPA) from the Minnesota Department of Revenue. For more information about requesting a Rent Paid Affidavit (RPA), visit Renter's Credit.
