Question

Can I wait till next tax year to file a statement that received for opening a new checking account. I received the paperwork after I filed. Do I have to do an amendment?

I want to know if I can wait till next year to file a $100 taxable fee from my bank account because I was a new member they gave me $100 reward. I had already filed. I just need to know if I have to amend it this year or can I wait and file it with my next year's taxes?

If the reward was given in 2024, it must be reported on a 2024 tax return. Taxes are filed on a cash basis, and all income is reported in the year received. Due to the amount, it may not have an affect on your tax return. But, if it was received in 2024, your return should be amended to include the income.

How do I amend my federal tax return for a prior year?
