Hello,

I worked remotely for my former employer, Target.  They listed State income tax amounts in box 17 of my W-2 for both my state of residence, AZ as well as company headquarters, MN.  I have only ever lived in AZ.  Is this money that I should be getting back?  How?

Thank You,

Aaron

If you've never worked in Minnesota, you will need to file a nonresident return to receive a refund of the tax that was paid. You'll indicate that none of you income was earned in MN so that you can get your tax back.
