If you are amending your 2024 state tax return don't amend your state tax return until it is processed and you have received your refund. Follow the steps below to file your state amendment with TurboTax Online: Open TurboTax. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and select 2023 for the year you want to amend. Select Amend (change) return, then Amend using TurboTax Online. On the screen OK, let's get a kickstart on your 2023 amended return, select The IRS or state sent me a notice (this option will let you to amend only your state return without making changes to your federal) and Continue. On the next screen, select Something Else and Continue. On the screen Tell us which 2024 return(s) you want to amend, select 2024 state. Continue until the Let's Amend your State Taxes screen. I followed this, and it indeed shows a higher refund (than I already received with the filed Va return). But I followed the "next" promps to the end and....no confirmation of it being finalized or sent. How can I confirm this amended return was ever sent?
