What does having a 2023 W-2 have to do with your 2024 state return?   Where is it asking for that?  What  state?

Is your state asking for your 2023 AGI? That's not on your W-2, it's on your 2023 tax return.

 

In fact, that's likely true for anything that you may be asked for - the answer is on your tax return, not your W-2.
