Question

I am amending a return for 2024 I have already received 12,687 when amending I added 3 more dependents and it gave me a a total of 12,687 again. What did I do wrong?

I couldn’t add all of my 6 dependents together because two of them were claimed illegal that is why I am amending.

    Since we can't see your return in this forum, I would suggest that you compare your original Form 1040 to your Amended Form 1040X to look for differences, especially in the Personal Info section.
