I cannot change my direct deposit information. It is forcing me to choose a bank account that no longer exists, which I used last year.

    You cannot  change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted.  The IRS does not allow it.

    @spar7an_oni   I had the same issue because prior to filing I also needed to update prior year saved direct deposit information for a refund and was searching for an answer. I happened to try the third option which I believe said Other Refund Options - I recall it said something about a paper check or split accounts under this choice - which seemed like the opposite of what I wanted BUT when I chose this option and continued through it brought me to another screen where it asked if I wanted to use my direct deposit from the prior year and here I was able to choose "No" and enter new banking info. Hope this helps.
