Question

I cannot find "Tax Home" to print my 2023 ".tax2023" file.

TurboTax Online

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Start the 2024 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.

On the Tax Home webpage -

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF) or Click on Download .tax file

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

Thanks for the reply, but why is TurboTax 2024 even mentioned if, as the message header states, this is all about TurboTax 2023? What if i do not have TT 2024?

To resolve this issue, I loaded the 2023 return by reinstalling TT 2023 and created a PDF of the return...there was nothing else available to get the job done. I doubt I will be looking at TurboTax next year, as the documentation and help system has now become hopelessly borked, both in the program and online.

You do not have to prepare a 2024 return----but you need to trick the software by entering enough information for 2024 to get the side menu to open up and let you get to your older returns.
