Question

I filed an amended tax return on Turbotax. The IRS tracker website is not able to find my amended return. How can I track or find out the status?

    Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.

    It normally takes about three weeks after the IRS receives the amended return before the IRS website for amended returns will give any type of status - https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return

    You can use the IRS website Check your amended return

    It may take about three weeks to start processing

    • Social Security number
    • Date of birth
    • Zip code
