I filed married w the free addition. Forgot to upload my husbands W2. To amend it’s trying to charge me over $100. Is this correct? I have to pay just to add a W2?

There is no fee to amend a return unless whatever you are changing requires an upgrade to a higher version of the software.   If you are changing something that requires a higher version you pay the difference between the original fee and the upgrade fee.    If you only added a W-2 there should not be any charge for that.  Did you make other changes or add something else---like any self-employment income, for example?

Are you using the correct steps to amend?

Wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend, and make sure you have saved a pdf of the original return before you amend. (If you do not save it as a pdf, the amended return will overwrite the original, and the original will be lost forever)

Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.
