Question

I had a claim of right of repayment for $25,000 on my 2024 return. The return was filed last week, however I think I may need to add documentation to support it?

I have a copy of the check and the request from the employer for the repayment. Is it necessary to file an amended return for this info or should I wait to see if my refund is approved?

    No. Do not amend. Wait until your original return is fully processed, meaning you have received your refund. If the IRS needs something they will mail you a letter telling you what they need.
