I haven't filed taxes since I was disabled was I supposed to

That's been 20yrs or longer since I got disabled I was told I didn't have to file anymore is that true

That depends on if you earned or had other investment income.

If you only had disability, you are not required to file a tax return.

Being disabled does not exempt you from filing a tax return if you have taxable income that is over the minimum amount for filing.
