Question

I mailed my amended tax return and I don’t know the status but I set up a payment for the IRS to take out but does it matter since I don’t know if my return got accepted?

It’s been over 3 weeks since I mailed but since my payment is coming out on the 15th, I just want to know will they still take it out or will I somehow get my status soon?? I’ve never done an amended tax return, especially a mailed amended tax return.

You can use the IRS website Check your amended return

It may take about three weeks to start processing

 

You will need

  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Zip code
