I need to ammend my tax return as I forgot to say my parents were claming me as a dependent

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

Your parents doe not have to wait for you to amend your tax return.  They can only print and mail their tax return since your return was already accepted by the IRS.

On their tax return they can claim you as their dependent.
