I put the wrong middle initial on my taxes when I submitted it. How do I fix this?

Once you transmit your return you cannot change it or get it back.  You would have to wait until your return gets rejected or accepted.

If rejected, you can make your changes or add information to your return.

If accepted, you would need to amend your return to correct or add information to your return.

The federal amend form is set to be available on 2/11/2016. You will want to wait until after your original payment or refund has cleared to submit amend forms, so you don't cause a delay in your original tax return .

There is no need to amend for a wrong initial.   The IRS only cares that the first four letters of the last name and the birth date match the Social Security records.
