Question

I realized I forgot to add an additonal W-2 income after I submitted my refund. It was already accepted by the IRS before I tried to correct it. I filed an amendedment.

It would be unusual to enter an additional W-2 and not have a change.

    • Did the amended return reset to zero, or did it show the original return Refund or tax due?
    • Did you double check the entry of the new W-2?
    • Did you run the Federal Review to confirm things were posted correctly?

The original filing showed a refund.  The amendment showed tax due.

I was manually inputting the 2nd W-2 when I filed originally.  Took a break, and forgot to finish it.

I ran the Federal review when I originally filed and it passed.  Of course I was excited about the refund at first, but didn't notice anything odd until I took another look at my AGI after the return had been accepted.
