Question

I've filed my documents and everything on my taxes and stuff. I'm just trying to figure out how much money I'm gonna get back.

Did you look at your tax return?    If you are getting a federal refund the amount is shown on line 35a of your Form 1040.   If you owe federal tax due, the amount you were supposed to pay by April 15 is shown on line 37 of your Form 1040.

    LOOK at your Form 1040.

We cannot give you line numbers to look at on your state return since we do not know what state you are in, but if you look over your state return---somewhere near the bottom of the tax form the amount of the refund or amount due to the state should be pretty obvious.

And your online account with TurboTax also provides the information about your refunds.   Pay attention and look at your own information when you prepare and file a tax return.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

    To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing
