Usually it takes the IRS 24-48 hours to accept a tax return, but can sometimes take a bit longer.  The IRS website will not show anything regarding your return until it is actually accepted.

You can check your filing status by following these instructions:  TurboTax Tools: Where's my Refund? 

 

You can also use the IRS tool Where's My Refund to check if your e-filed return has been received.
