Question

Should my downloaded return be gibberish that looks like code? Would you send that return to the IRS?

I downloaded my Federal and CA State returns and the Federal return is not formatted correctly. The page breaks and lines are off. The CA state return has gibberish that looks like computer code in it and does not resemble a return at all. I cannot possibbly submit these as returns.

What file did you download?  A .tax2024 file or a pdf?   Try updating your pdf reader program.  Or try using a different browser to download it.
