Hey I was an F1 student who came here in 2021. I got my H1B starting 2023. This year can I file my taxes with just the 1040 ( as a resident for tax purposes)?

When exactly did your immigration status adjustment ( F-1 to H1-B ) take place ? How did you file for the tax year 2023 ? Which country are you from ?

Yes, since the H1B visa nullified your original 5-year exemption period, you may file a 1040 resident return this year provided you met the substantial presence test for 2024.
