There used to be a way to see last year's and this year's top-level entries side by side, but I can't find it in turbotax.

What you are looking for is the Two-Year Comparison.

If you are using the desktop TurboTax software, go to forms mode and open the Two-Year Comparison. In the list of "Forms in My Return" it will be near the end of the federal tax return.

If you are using TurboTax Online you have to print your tax return with the option "Include government and TurboTax worksheets" to see the Two-Year Comparison.
