TurboTax 2024 will not open saved .tax2024 file while running Sequoia 15.3. Uninstalled and re-installed program; looked for state updates, moved file locations, nothing works.

You re installed? After you get the program installed or reinstalled the first thing to do before you open your tax return is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to File-New Tax Return).

Then go to FILE -Open and find your return.

Yes, re-installed. There is no 'uninstaller' in folder so moved to Trash and emptied Trash. Application should have been uninstalled. Reinstalled from download. Did not work. Checked for updates, started new return, tried to download State but would not download same state a second time, new install and new return program had state loaded.

Never solved; so had to re-enter all data in a new tax return. Spent hours talking to TurboTax but never could connect with Technical/Software expert; three different reps at Turbotax could not find the contact, chat or phone number for technical help. Best help, albeit not technical expert, was from TurboTax Business rep.

After I looked at file info, it was apparent from small size - under 600 kB vs 4-6 MB - that there was virtually nothing left to recover.
