Question

Using Turbo Tax business online, I need to amend 1120-S for S-Corp. But I can't find any options to amend; also will I be able to e-file amendment online? Thanks!

Here are three things to do before you begin:

    1. Make sure you really need to amend.
    2. Wait until your return has been accepted (or mailed if paper filing).
    3. Use the same TurboTax account you used to file your original return.
    4. You must use the edition of TurboTax Desktop for the year you're amending. For example, you must amend your 2024 return in TurboTax Desktop Business 2024.

To Download TurboTax Desktop for Business see below:

    1. Go to Access my downloads and sign in with the same user ID you used to purchase your software
    2. On Your TurboTax account, select the Downloads tab
    3. Select the version you want to download and save it somewhere on your computer where you can find it

Then to amend an S-Corp follow these steps:

    1. Open TurboTax.
    2. On the Work on a Tax Return screen, select Amend a Return.
    3. Select the return you want to amend.
    4. On the Amended Return screen, select Yes.
    5. Select the tax year that you would like to change.
    6. Proceed through the rest of the amended return, making any other changes as needed.
    7. When you reach the File tab, continue through the steps to e-file or print and file your Form 1120-X.
    8. Save the amended return for your records with a different name than your original return.

I did and followed all the instructions and created the amendment in the desktop version of Turbotax business.   I have no option to efile, I can only print and paper file.

That is correct. You will need to print and mail the corporate amended tax return. Make sure you use certified mail when mailing it to the IRS or state.
