The easiest way to check to see what bank account number you used is by viewing your Form 1040.  Your account information is listed on Lines 20 b,c & d of your Form 1040. Your banking information can also be found on your TurboTax Electronic Filing Instructions Page in the BalanceDue/Refund section.  If you did not print the instruction sheet, please follow these steps to print or view it:

  • Sign back into your TurboTax Account
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click "Add a State" (You will not be adding a State, this is just a way to get you back into your tax return)
  • Next select "Tax Tools" (left column) and then "Print Center"
  • Select "Print, save, or preview this year's return"
  • Choose to include the "Government and TurboTax worksheets
  • Then click "View or Print Forms"
  • View the "TurboTax Electronic Filing Instructions Page"

Hello, I followed these steps (thank you), however my account number and routing number shows up as XXXXXXXXXX in both fields.  What does this mean? Did my banking information not transfer over?

I checked the IRS website and it says "Your refund was sent to your bank on February 20, 2025 for direct deposit."

But when I check the account I "thought" I typed in, there is no $$ there.

Are you looking at a PDF of your return before you filed or after you filed?   What does the instruction page say?

If the bank returned the funds, the IRS will mail your refund via check to the address on your tax return.  @carlylagoda

Where can I find my direct deposit account information after I've e-filed?
