Wire transfer number instead of routing number. Will this simply default into the paper check back up plan of the IRS when a bank accont isn't entered correctly?

I had post taxes brain and when I entered my Wells Fargo number i realized I did wire transfer number instead of a bank routing number.

Yes. If a direct deposit fails, the IRS will default to mailing out a check. I'll take a bit longer, but that is indeed how the IRS handles it.
