I worked for Lyft during 2024.  Got a 1099-K from them.  1099-K has gross earnings of $33,500.  Lyft summary report has the following expenses listed:

Expenses:

Lyft platform fees:  $9,022.95

Service fees:  $7,310

Third party fees: $600

I am taking the mileage deduction (I have 17,800 miles on Lyft summary report) but want to make sure I can also deduct all those fees (platform, service and third party fees).  Just want to make sure I can deduct miles and platform fees as well.  I am aware if I deduct miles, I can't deduct other vehicle expenses but not sure about all those lyft fees.

Yes, you can take your vehicle mileage and the fees on the Lyft Summary Report. The Lyft platform fee has nothing to do with the expenses you pay to operate your vehicle.

    • Lyft's platform fee is a variable fee that helps maintain the Lyft platform and grow the community. It's calculated by subtracting certain fees from the rider's total charges.

Enter your vehicle and take the standard mileage rate (SMR) as well as your other fees charged by Lyft.
