efile amended S-Corp taxes for 2023

How do I use Turbotax Business to e-file my amended 2023 Form1120-S (Federal) & State Form 512S When I go through the amend a Tax Return process in the program, it only allows me to efile the amended State Return. Why can't I efile the amended federal Return? According to the IRS, if you e-file a business tax return, you are required to e-file the amended return. You can not mail the amended return. Both of my original 2023 returns (Fed & State) have already been accepted through efiling in Turbotax Business.

Please clarify if you have seen an explanation for why you cannot e-file the Federal return. In some cases, certain forms need to be mailed and will prevent e-filing.

There is no explanation given. At the e-file point in the program only the State amended return comes up to e-file.

At this time, TurboTax Business doesn't support e-filing a federal amended 1120-S return. You will need to print, sign and mail the return to the IRS. Follow the filing instructions found at the bottom of the forms list using Forms Mode (Forms icon in the TurboTax header).
