EIN for disregarded entity LLC?

I want to get an EIN for my single member, disregarded entity LCC, so that I can put it on my invoices instead of constantly giving out my personal SSN. Can I do this without having to file another tax return separate from my personal income return? Can I do this midway through the tax year and just start using the EIN instead of my SSN? Thanks.

Yes, you can.  You can even do it on-line:  https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/apply-for-an-employer-identification-n... and you can do it mid-year.

Thanks for the answer - so there are no real tax implications then?

If it's a disregarded llc, there are none.
