I have a virtual assistant that I send wages to without any taxes taken out.  Can I claim that as additional Business expense? I'm working as an independent contractor but needed help.

If you're Self-Employed and pay over $600 for services, you need to issue that person a 1099-NEC.

Then yes, you can claim that as a Business Expense on your Schedule C.

Here's How to Create W2s or 1099s for Employees or Contractors.
