Question

How do I update the Schedule 4835? The schedule pulled forward from 2023, but the data went to a Schedule E?

    The choice between Schedule E and Form 4835 is made on the page "Tell us about your farm or farm rental."

     

    For Form 4835, make sure you checked the box for either: 

    • "I received agricultural payments on a 1099-MISC or 1099-G for my farm rental." or 
    • "I received a share of the production from my farm rental."

     

    If you checked the box for receiving a share of production, be sure you checked the box for "I did not materially participate in my farm rental." If you materially participate, the activity will go on Schedule E.
