The 1099-NEC is a self-employment tax form.  TurboTax is asking you questions to add Schedule C (self-employed) to your return.   As someone who receives that form, you are the owner of your own business.    You would use your own information for the Schedule C.     Am I self-employed?

When you enter it, there is a box you can mark, that will remove the Schedule C and report the income as ordinary income instead of business income.   After you enter, there is a question about uncommon situations.   You can mark the box that says, this is not self-employment income.    If you use this option, you will need to delete the 1099-nec you started, delete the schedule c, and re-enter the 1099-nec.

You may receive an inquiry, so you may want to have the issuer get you a corrected form.
