prepare a k-1 for a partner in who lives in a different state.
I prepared a 1065 partnership in wisconsin but one of the partners lives in another state and
will not acccept the k-1 that i prepared in wisconsin. What do i need to do?
If the partnership is located in WI, then the K-1 is for WI. You do not have to prepare K-1's for partners based on the state they live in. The partner can enter the K-1 that you prepared on their return. Basically, the federal K-1 can be used for any information they are lacking.
