Are you needing an EIN for the issuer of the IRS form 1099-K?  Or something else?  Please clarify.

I have a 1099K under $600, I do not have a EIN number. I entered the 1099K for my income. I’m no longer self employed. No expenses for 2024. TurboTax is wanting my EIN number on the Schedule C in order for me to finish out up and complete my taxes. I file MFJ and everything else is entered. My Social was used in 2023. Should still be used now. Please help!! Thank you

Back where you went through the walkthrough for your business there was a screen that said "Enter Employer ID number, If Any".  You should have ticked the 'no' box on that screen.

However, there are several reasons that you might be required to have an ein.  They are-

     - You pay employees in your business.
    - You don't pay wages, but have excise tax forms or other returns to file that require an EIN.
    - You are a sole proprietor or farmer and have a Keogh plan.
    - You are required to withhold taxes on income, other than wages paid to a nonresident alien.

It sounds like none of those would apply to you but if you accidentally ticked a box that made the system think that one of those did apply then you need to go back through and change your answers.
