I originally included statutory wages and non-employee compensation (1099-NEC) on the same Schedule C, and Turbo Tax showed a certain refund. However, the program said I had to link the statutory wages to a separate Schedule C. When I did that, and making no other changes, my refund went down. Why did that happen?
