Where in TurboTax do i list expenses for needed assisted living

To get to medical expenses in TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop please follow these steps:

1. Within your tax return, use the magnifying glass to search medical expenses and click Jump to Medical Expenses.
2. On the screen Did you spend more than $XXX on medical expenses in 2023 screen, click yes and enter your expenses.
3. Continue until you get to the screen to enter Medical facility fees.

Assisted living expenses are deductible when a doctor has certified a patient can't care for themselves.

You can deduct your medical expenses if you itemize your deductions. You can deduct only the part of your medical and dental expenses that exceeds 7.5% of the amount of your adjusted gross income on Form 1040 or 1040-SR, line 11.
