I just got a sprint contract will it help build my credit

My cell phone contracts have never been on my credit reports so I don't think so. Experian offers "Experian Boost" which adds bills to your credit history that aren't normally reported, like monthly utility bills. It might also include cell phone bills. You would enroll on the Experian web site. (This is not an endorsement of the service, you will have to review the terms yourself to see if you want to enroll.)
