I have things on my credit that i dont even know what they are, how do i find out??

    Most of the time, there will be a phone number included with each listed item on the report. Commonly a toll free number. Otherwise, search the name of the creditor on the Internet and start digging.

    This is most common if you have unpaid credit card debt. The bank will sell that debt to a collection agency for say, 20 cents on the dollar. Then the agency will attempt to collect the debt, which to be profitable for them would need to be for more than 20 cents on the dollar. So these unknowns you are seeing are most likely collection agencies.

    If you see a debt marked as a "charge off" and see another debt for "about" the same amount, that's a good indication the charge off was sold to that "unknown" you're looking at.
