I would highly suggest two things.

    1) Call the number listed for that item on the credit report and "work it through" to cancel the card.

    2) File a report of stolen identity with local law enforcement.

    3) Using the instructions provided with the credit report, challenge the charges. The credit bureaus do make mistakes, lots of them.

I know about 20 years ago or so when applying for a mortgage my credit report showed I was making more in payments each month, than I was earning each month. This was puzzling to the loan officer because the report showed I was never late with a payment. Yep, perfect credit. Of course, the loan officer questioned how this was possible since my listed income sources could not possibly cover all the payments each month.

Well, my father and I have the same name, where he is Jr. and I am the 3rd. Ironically, there's also only a one digit difference in our SS numbers to. So I told the loan officer to resubmit the credit request with a requirement to confirm date of birth on each item, instead of the SSN. What came back was more realistic and right.  My dad and I have since that time got the three credit agencies doing things right now. :) This just goes to show that the credit agencies are more apt to screw up giving the impression of stolen identity. But you cover your butt anyway by filing a police report.
