In 2015 and 2017 I was in a car accident sustaining injuries that built large medical bills which are now in collections and I am in litigation over them. In addition to that we had old medical collections that charged off and loss of job and the inability to return to the workforce and operating on one income at this time I have not pursued disability And will not until I absolutely have no choice. I'm trying to avoid bankruptcy to wipe the sleep clean and rebuild credit anybody have any suggestions how to do that?

So you were in TWO car accidents? One in 2015 and another in 2017? Both resulted in large medical bills that you obviously can't pay?

At this point, your credit is already destroyed. Filing bankruptcy isn't going to make it worse. It's the equivalent of ramming the Titanic. You can't sink that which is already at the bottom of the ocean. The sooner you seek the services of legal advice to look at bankruptcy and your other options (if any), the sooner you can get on a "realistic" path to rebuilding credit. The longer you wait, the longer it takes and the harder it is.

Additionally, getting a lawyer involved can only help. Most creditors when they become aware you're moving towards bankruptcy fully realize that they most likely will not get one penny. So they'd rather settle with you for pennies on the dollars, rather than zero.
