Question

I entered my medical expenses and noticed that the total refund did not change.... noticed the same thing when I entered all of my charitable donations.... Start over??

    Both the medical expense tax credit and the donations credit are non-refundable tax credits that you can use to reduce the tax that you may have to pay. They can't generate or increase a refund.

    But both can be carried forward, so you may be able to use them next year.
