Question

I have a receipt for a day camp that both of my children attended in 2024. Do I list this under 1 of my children's names, or can I leave it as N/A?

You can claim them as a childcare expense.

You may include payments made to any of the following individuals or institutions:

    • caregivers providing child care services
    • day nursery schools and daycare centres
    • educational institutions, for the part of the fees that relate to child care services
    • day camps and day sports schools where the primary goal of the camp is to care for children (an institution offering a sports study program is not a sports school)
    • boarding schools, overnight sports schools, or camps where lodging is involved (read the note in Part A of Form T778, Child Care Expenses Deduction for 2024)

Expenses you can claim – Line 21400 – Child care expenses

    Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Thanks.  Both of my children are on the same invoice and when I go to enter it, the online form is making me choose a child.  Do I input the whole invoice under 1 child, or split the cost and input half and half (half for each child)?
