What is the NEW Seniors Safety Tax Credit?

The Ontario Seniors’ Home Safety Credit helps seniors with the cost of renovations that make their homes safer and more accessible. 

This temporary, refundable credit can be claimed by senior homeowners or renters, or by family members living with a senior, in tax years 2021 and 2022. You can claim a maximum of $10,000 in eligible renovation expenses, resulting in a credit of up to $2,500.

To claim the credit, get receipts from your suppliers and contractors to ensure that they report these amounts for tax purposes.
