You will need to enter your travel expenses for medical treatment the same way you enter your medical expenses.
Here are the steps using TurboTax online:
SelectFind(or the magnifying glass icon) from the TurboTax menu
Entermedical expensesin theFindwindow
SelectMedical Expenses Profilefrom the list of results
SelectGo. TheYour Medical Profilestep appears
Select all checkboxes that apply, then selectContinue
TheMedical Expensesstep appears. TurboTax will display the minimum amount of eligible medical expenses required to generate a tax benefit
If the eligible medical expenses are less than the minimum amount displayed by TurboTax, the user selectsDone, as there aren't enough expenses to generate a tax credit. Otherwise, selectEnter New Medical Expense, and theMedical Expenses Receiptstep appears.
Note:Before beginning, make sure you've entered all your income information into TurboTax. TurboTax will use these details to automatically calculate the minimum medical expenses you need to enter, as well as to determine your eligibility for claiming a deduction.
You enter mileage the same way as you would glasses, teeth or prescriptions. In the description of the expense, you write mileage for appointment 80 miles away, etc.
