As a real estate agent, can I take the standard deduction and then also take the mileage deduction? Yes or No

    Mileage goes on a Schedule C if you are self-employed.   Itemized deductions like mortgage interest , property tax, medical expenses and charity donations go on Schedule A.  So......you can take both if you are self-employed.

    Yes.  Your mileage is a business expense, you can only claim this on your Schedule C.

    The standard deduction is something most people can claim whether they have a business or not. Is it on the personal side of the return, not the business side.
